The Coconut Cream (or Creme) Mango is a relished new variety of Walter Zill’s South Florida creation. It is a patented and hard-to-find variety, with a cult following for its unique, coconut-flavored fiberless flesh.Â
The vibrant and semi-bumpy mango’s skin envelopes a deep orange, creamy flesh reminiscent of coconuts on their best flavor behavior. When ready to pick, the fruit turns from green to yellow on the bottom and ultimately takes on a lively orange to red outside hue at its peak.Â
A hybrid of the Glenn and the Gary, the Coconut Cream Mango has a heavy hype of its own! Â
Carrying on a combo of its parent trees’ best traits, the Coconut Cream Mango tree is relatively resistant to anthracnose along with other fungus and seems to keep from bruising even when falling from the tree. Hitting it’s harvest peak mid-season between June and July, it’s sure to be a hot summer day’s delight.
